Technology

Dr. Goulet and the team spend many hours each year training and taking advanced courses to ensure they deliver the best care, safely. Employing the latest technology means consistent results, so you’ll know what to expect at each visit.

It’s okay to feel nervous or even fearful when anticipating an appointment. We understand that our patients aren’t all the same. We have many methods available to provide you with a relaxed, comfortable dental experience.

The most common forms of sedation used in dentistry are inhaled, oral, and intravenous sedation. While sedation dentistry makes the procedure more tolerable for you, it is important to understand that they are not painkillers, and you will still require the use of dental anesthetic.

Porcelain Bridges

Whenever you drive across a bridge, you’re being supported by the same principles that support a dental bridge. Crowned teeth on either side of a space support an artificial tooth. In many cases, dental implants offer a better alternative, eliminating most of the load-bearing strain you see in traditional bridge abutments.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening removes years of dingy stains from your teeth. Coffee, tea, wine, tobacco, and chocolate can dull white enamel surfaces. Our professional whitening system offers a boost of confidence from a brighter smile. Simple and safe, most patients don’t realize how discolored their teeth are until they see the results.

Inlays

Some small fractures can be perfectly restored with an inlay, a custom piece of porcelain, like a partial crown, that is bonded to the damaged area of the tooth. When we consider the options to preserve even a single broken tooth, we take a conservative approach. Fortunately, modern dental materials allow us to rebuild teeth to full function while maintaining as much natural tooth structure as possible.

Composite Fillings

Cavities and small fractures can cause much larger issues if left untreated. In the past, metal restorations called amalgam fillings (or silver fillings) served a need but left many teeth discolored and strained from the wedging effect of the metal. Today, tooth-colored composite resins blend into the tooth structure and are chemically bonded to the tooth providing a strong, permanent restoration.

Porcelain Crowns

Sometimes teeth are damaged because of cavities, heavy bite forces, or trauma. If a root canal is needed to salvage a compromised nerve, the tooth may be especially fragile. Dental crowns, or caps, allow these teeth to be rebuilt and covered with materials that mimic nature. Not only are most “capped” teeth indistinguishable from natural teeth, but they’re also extremely secure and comfortable.

Porcelain Veneers

Sometimes referred to as instant orthodontics, veneers can dramatically transform your smile. A set of veneers can correct chips, stains, and even deeply discolored teeth. But they can also alter the length and size of teeth or help give the appearance of a straight tooth where there is not. While it may sound dramatic, it isn’t. Veneers provide a highly conservative approach to esthetic smile makeovers.

Sealants

Sealants can dramatically reduce the number of cavities a child might develop throughout their childhood. On the chewing surface of molars, deep grooves run into the center of the teeth. Under a microscope, these crevices might look like a deep canyon. In reality, most of them are narrower than a single toothbrush bristle but that is still wide enough for bacteria to hide. If the grooves in permanent molars are sealed at a young age, the risk of decay decreases dramatically.

Adult Dentistry

Learn about what happens with the bacteria in your mouth to cause dental problems. Bacteria deposit acidic wastes on the teeth that erode the hard surfaces, weaken the enamel, and form holes known as cavities. Some bacteria causes bleeding gums and destroys the bone around the teeth. This is called periodontal disease. Adult dental problems can be prevented with these tips for maintaining a healthy mouth.

Sealants For Children

Sealants help prevent decay by protecting the surface of the teeth, especially the back teeth where brushing can be more difficult for children. It is a clear, liquid resin that hardens when a special light is shined on it. This creates a smooth, hard surface that prevents food from settling in the grooves of your child’s back teeth.

Topical Fluoride

Topical fluoride treatments help keep your child’s teeth cavity-free between visits by strengthening the enamel. Depending on your child’s age, the fluoride may be brushed onto your child’s teeth or put into a foam tray and allowed to sit on their teeth. For younger children, a fluoride varnish is brushed onto the teeth.

Children’s Cleanings & Exams

Most children have two cleanings a year, but children with a higher risk of cavities may need more frequent visits. During a checkup, your child’s hygienist will clean their teeth and, if necessary, take x-rays and give your child a fluoride treatment. The dentist will perform an exam and review if any treatment is needed.

Periodontal Therapy

Periodontal disease, commonly known as gum disease, affects about 30% of the adult population and is the number one cause of tooth loss in adults. Many denture cases begin because of this chronic condition. While not curable, with regular professional hygiene appointments and consistent home care, it is controllable. We provide periodontal therapy and treatments.
